Embrace Arts embracearts
Mission statement: Embrace Arts creates connections between the University of Leicester and wider communities. It is a creative hub for artists, performers, audiences and learners alike. It pioneers vibrant and creative approaches to the arts in an inclusive and welcoming space and breaks down barriers to access.
About Embrace Arts: Open to all, Embrace Arts is the University of Leicester’s award winning arts centre. We are proud of our innovative year-round programme of performance, dance, music and spoken word. We also offer high quality creative learning courses and workshops led by professional artists.
As the University of Leicester's arts centre, Embrace Arts at the RA centre offers opportunities to everyone to participate without barriers in ways that challenge and inspire.
Our welcoming 120-seater performance area, art studios, extensive exhibition gallery and bright foyer space enable people to engage with the arts as audiences, performers and learners.
We also manage the University's support for students through the music scholarship scheme and student music groups, as well as working with a range of local amateur performers.
Still one of the few arts venues that can boast a fully-accessible facility, we provide a focal point for cultural life on campus and in the wider community.
Long active in arts and disability, Lord Attenborough was fundamental to the creation of the RA centre and continues to be an immense supporter, closely involved with its activities.
