Hi everyone!
My name is Monika and I am a freelance photographer, designer and videographer.
I'll tell you a bit about myself. I have been interested in art since I remember. Most of my family members have got some talents so I grew up watching their creativity. I went to college and got a degree on Fine Art and Culture. During the course we have been carving, painting, drawing and doing lots of other things related to art. After finishing school in 2007 I decided to come to England.
The beginnings weren’t easy at all. Without any previous work experience and my poor English, I had to registered to recruitment agencies and work in various warehouses.
Finally after two years I got a job at one of the Tesco Stores. Easy, full time, permanent job, but every day started looking the same. Work- home, work- home... how many people live the same way? I finally said to myself “STOP”! I have to do something about it!
Because, I have always been into photography and feel some kind of special connection with it, I went for a Digital Photography course at St Margaret’s Campus and I have really enjoyed it! I thought to myself “that's what I want to do”. Soon after I bought my very first camera and went for another course: Studio Photography. I have learned about how to set up a studio, what do I need , plus some basic things about photo shooting. I bought all needed equipment and started doing shoots in a spare room at my place. In a large extent I am a self-learner, so most of the things I learned by pressing all the buttons (lol). That’s how I have learn, among others, how to use Photoshop cs. I also have to thank to my friends who helped me in the very first steps too! (they know who I’m talking about). Because I like to do new things and taking challenges, I have tried a videography and video editing and definitely enjoyed it too!
