Organisation

Pedestrian pedestrian

We are a not-for-profit community arts organisation, providing education and training in a wide range of Urban Art Forms, Street Sports, and The Media.

With well over 5,000 workshops completed in twelve years of delivery, we've a tried and tested record of delivering the very best in arts education. You shoexpect nothing but the best from our team of talented and passionate professionals, who are all fully trained, qualified, and CRB checked.

'Pioneering Potential' is what we're all about. We strive to unlock the creative potential within young people, to help them identify and achieve their aims.

Over the years we've learned how to engage the hardest to reach young people, as well as how to inspire excellence in the more able. We develop confidence and increase self esteem in those who struggle to express themselves - pioneering that potential that others may not see.

We offer a range of services, from single drop in sessions to long term, fully accredited GCSE and A Level equivalent education courses - and all the steps inbetween. In addition, our location in the centre of Leicester's Cultural Quarter affords us with some of the finest community art exhibition space in the city, and a wonderful environment to work in our hot desk studio area.

pedestrian blogged Why Volunteer ?

Maryna is a Gallery Host in the Pedestrian Gallery on a weekly basis.  We asked her to share her experience so far . . .

"Being a volunteer at the Pedestrian Gallery as a Gallery Host, I often get asked:

‘Why are you volunteering?’

When I started volunteering I saw this involvement as an opportunity to improve my communication skills and get an experience in the creative environment. At that time I was planning on going into Advertising and Marketing as a career route.

Kylie North is the latest Creator to add her re-shirt item to the blog.  Here's what she had to say about her experience:

"I thought the Re-shirt exhibition was great. I really wanted to be involved in making a piece of art from a t-shirt. I generally make short silent videos and have wanted to incorporate music into my work, and thought this would be the chance to do that, visually. I own a lot of vinyl records at home and my parents have a lot just sitting around, I wanted to make the most..
