Successful work as the UKs' first legendary Diva of House includes , major international music recording and publishing contracts with Peer Music Publishers, Warner Bros East West Azuli and Sony /Champion records , with So Dam Tuff and Staxx groups, writing and performing House music around the world , notably the track 'For What You Dream Of the seminal track in the first ever major compilation album by a famous House Club Renaissance that went on to be sensation, as it was picked up and featured in the international UK hit film ‘Trainspotting, plus another track was featured in the US Hollywood film ‘Angie’ with the track 'Joy' and group Staxx
.Dare to Diva Productions her new company ( literature, performing arts , multi - media, arts equaltiies ) , where she is the lead artist/ performer , producer , director as well as putting together arts creative cohorts. .Carol is currently working on an exciting and totally innovative project about a Black Divas, Club culture House Music/Industry and overcoming adversity. 'The Loneliness of the Long Distance Diva ' a Choreopeom (poetry & physical theatre ), a collaborative cross arts theatre project - featuring poetry, bespoke physical theatre, specially composed contemporary music both digital and acoustic , digital still and moving visuals.
This project is part of Leicester and the Igniting Ambition Festival East Midlands/Leicester Cultural Olympiad 2012 . Her other roles include multi artist include - musician, poet, writer, curator, director, producer, arts manager, visiting lecturer (De Monfort University) , reviewer, freelance journalist, presenter & broadcaster. Short listed nomination ‘Reality Check play Tinniswood Award (radio play newcomer-Society of Authors/Writers Guild), Theatre work Producing & Directing - 'Women Pain' 'Sista's Doing it for Themselves Haymarket Theatre and Y Theatre & Director Michael 'Sure Shot' Brome's'Blood' Monologue (Generator) Eclipse Theatre at Nottingham Playhouse.
Currently working also as Manager p/t of Mainstream Partnership - Black Minority Ethnic creative arts led organization covering the East Midlands. Producer of documentary films 'We are not getting anywhere' Racism and Mental Health featuring Black Minority Ethnic User Groups. 'IN2BLUZ ' a second produced documentary film was based on a Black Music Heritage project for young people in deprived areas of Leicester.
Performer and songwriter - own band (nu jazz soul world funk) and show ‘Random Acts of Senseless Beauty’as well as performing with the Vagabonds (Eastern European/Jamaican Folk Pop Chanson/Jazz/Blues) also guest vocalist with World Groove Orchestra Band (Asian/Jazz World) & duos with legendary guitarist Paddy Hodgkinson.. A creative visionary and mentor for the FD2D Dawn magazine, Presenter & Board Member Exposure Show Demon FM, Member of Amplified Leicester Social Media Project .
Member of Quadelectric (free improvised Electronica), a founder & ‘Madam’ of the burlesqued themed Poetry Brothel & Leicester and also CAROUSEL alternative cabaret , numerous international national radio and TV appearances, published articles in arts magazines - Reviewer AN newsletter visaul arts etc. poetry published online. Curator and cobntributor of poetry for LED screen at ‘Sacred Spaces’ sculpture Evington Rd Expoetica a proposed poetry platform for local poets with live and recorded broadcasts on Exposure Show Demon Fm radio.
Shortlisted for Imsion/Tinniswood Award (Society of Authors & Writers Guild) for first radio play Reality Check broadcast on BBC Radio 4 . Poem 'Storm' published in Hearing Voices Literary Magazine Vol 1
Produced documentary films on racism in mental health ‘Were Not Getting Anywhere’ and Blues music legacy and popular culture IN2BLUZ screened at the Phoenix Arts Centre. Work as performance poet with Apples & Snakes. Events produced include BBC Music Live 2000 - Cultural Sushi world music club, curator ‘Style Up’ Afro-centric Photographic Exhibition/Fashion Show , Programmer BBC Music Live Festivals 1999/2000 (100, 000 attd.& national worldwide TV audiences of millions) Nubian Star Lounge -Emerging BME performing artists show cases (Haymarket Y Theatre Phoenix Arts).
