FD2D

Information

The FD2D roller coaster is flying along, building momentum, taking turns and establishing a place to explore, create and communicate what’s going on in the arts. Looking at music, fashion, performance, visual arts- basically anything creative has a space in From Dusk 2 Dawn. We are really grateful for all the support and input Leicester has given us to get where we are today. We will push the boundaries for 2010, planting new seeds, nurturing culture and harvesting the fruits of our labour. I am really excited about the collaborative work we are doing with Leicester’s cultural oracle, mapping out the cities artistic talent in the ‘We are Lesta’ campaign. This movement will grow organically as the established creatives and grass roots grow and flourish with each other, a creative community all supporting and celebrating each others passion and soul. This has always been our ethos, an open door for people to drop in and get involved with From Dusk 2 Dawn, pushing and expressing their talents. We want to bring the community together by sharing knowledge and creativity to champion Leicester and give this diverse city the respect it deserves. Be proud, be loud and get out there!

The Oxjam Takeover was a great example of this, people working together to support a good cause, having lots of fun in the process, bringing people together through music and art. I would like to take my hat off to all the Oxjam team for their hard work and dedication. We all pulled it out of the bag and achieved something amazing, thank you to everyone involved.

This issue is packed full of entertainment, getting behind Leicester Comedy Festival to give you a preview of all the fun and games coming up in February. We are organising the opening and closing party, the From Dusk 2 Dawn Imaginarium, a weird and wonderful bazaar, with something to stimulate your imagination in every sense. Lots of the festival shows have kindly given free tickets for a prize draw being held in the Imaginarium on the 5th February. Try your luck, worth a laugh.

We are embracing the digital world for 2010 with some next level, high tech website www.fd2d.com. The site is easier to use while offering an interactive platform to explore what’s happening in Leicester. Please check it out and let us know what you think, we are really pleased with how it’s working, but know there is always room for improvement.
A big thank you to all the contributors who have made this issue happen. I hope you will enjoy our offers, Happy New Year everyone!!
