Exposure Live theexposureshow
The Exposure show is a Leicester music and live performance based show on air Monday - Friday 7-9pm. We focus on Leicester based artists and artists who come into the city during festivals and events. We have live sessions with local artists on Wednesdays offering totally live 30 minute sets on Demon FM. These sessions are always the highlight of the week for the Exposure team and it reminds us why we work so hard to produce the show. During the rest of the week we have a different presenter for each day who focuses on different aspects of the Leicester music scene:
Monday: Presented by Carol Leeming and Natalie. Covering the spoken word scene and events across the city with demos and live session tracks throughout the show. Now joined by Markus Reeves who sheds light on the open mic and acoustic scene in Leicester, follow his blog at: www.acousticexposure.blogspot.com
Tuesday: Presenter by Alex and Natalie/Tom and Kav. Looking at artists who have made it successful outside of Leicester and the history of the Leicester music scene. Playing new and old Leicester demos from 1970s through to today.
Wednesday: Live session night. Featuring a Leicester artist from an acoustic act, band, orchestra - any genre of music from any Leicester performing act as long as it performed live and they have enough quality content to play live for 30 minutes in our studios. Session is followed by an interview with the artist.
Thursday: Presented by Deano Presto and Peter Banks. Playing live session tracks and demos with a funky hip hop vibe.
Friday: Features regular guest presenters talking about what they do and giving their spin on the Leicester music scene with demos and live tracks. To be a guest presenter on the show email the team: info@leicestersexposure.co.uk
Get you music on Exposure:
If you're a Leicester based artist then you can send you demos to the Exposure team and we'll play them out throughout the week on the show. They need to be .wav files as we appreciate quality music and want to play nothing but the best quality on the show so please avoid sending us MP3s if possible.
Play Live on Exposure:
Every Wednesday the team offers 30 minute live sets to local artists followed by an interview. If you'd like to play live on the show then email the team with a proposed Wednesday you'd like to play on and some information about yourself and your music.

The Exposure show requires a lot of hard work and there's plenty of opportunity for people to get involved from production and engineering to reporting on the local music scene and sourcing artists and content. We have links with local groups such as From DUSK 2 DAWN who produce a quarterly magazine and hold events such as this past weekends From DUSK 2 DAWN Weekender with Oxjam where the Exposure show hosted a full days entertainment of live music at Midas for Demon FM.
You don't have to give up much of your time, all we ask is that you are realistic about the time you can give to Exposure. One hour a week is enough but we're open to as much time as you can give and any ideas you have.

Songwriters Playtime now moved to The Looking Glass Braunstone Gate
There are mixed opinions about whether Leicester can cope with another open mike, so any that do pop up like songwriters playtime better cut the mustard .... (ill hold up my hand and admit I have a vested interest in this one so no reviews im afraid....). Anyway as far as 'cutting the mustard' goes, thats down to YOU THEN. Its all about the performers and the quality and intellect of the listeners, OK im off scot free now =]

'Answers On Postcard' night with Sally Hossack, Mike Sole and Boppa @ The Shed

The Donkey open mike is in new hands
Fresh off the press so ill fill in the gaps as i get the info. But i gleaned today that none other than Mr Plow has taken over the hosting of the donkey open mike night.
Firstly I would just like to take the time to thank Calder McLaughlin for running the nite for so long and adding his own stamp on it. I know he has big plans this year, and sometimes you just have to get your head down and get on with it, good luck fella!

The First WOODWORK PARTY Was HOT HOT HOT....
Well actually it was bloody freezing! ... but that didn't alter the fact that 70 or so people turned out at the inaugural Woodwork Party acoustic session organised by Mike Harper and Leicester Music Scene.
Braving sub zero temperatures, on the last Friday night before Christmas to see a first class acoustic line up, I have to say everyone I spoke to seemed impressed. With a great line up and a really special venue, the Independent Arts Centre on ..

Top Top venue ... new new night ... bags n bags of potential...
Well last Thursday I took myself off to The Quay on Western Boulevard to check out the newest open mike night on the block. Never having been there before, I had no idea what to expect. So I was somewhat taken aback when I walked in to the huge and recently (very nicely) refurbished 'New Quay' for their weekly open stage.

grace n the magic roots demon FM live session
well i just cant get enough of these guys right now, last night i dropped by to the demon FM studios to check out grace and her magic roots play one of the best live sessions ive heard for a loooooong time.

Great Music Venue, Talented Host, great for newbies and uumm not newbies too...
If you've been going to live music around Leicester for any amount of time you'll know the donkey pub, i think its a great great live music venue I've seen some great acts there and had some bonza night in there too...
But I'm confused now, I've been to the open mike at the donkey a few times and its always very quiet admittedly its a bigger venue than most open mikes so it needs more people to make it feel busy..

Girls with Guitars goes from strength to strength.
Raising money for breast cancer research never seemed more fun. The second installment of Girls with Guitars at the Donkey was a huge success last Thursday. With a sparkling array of talent singing there hearts out for a great cause.
I had a previous commitment and was only able to make it after Bethia Mitchel had been on, but reports are that she played with the maturity and power that belies her tender years and i have no reason doubt tha..
